Samantha's Birthday Party and Cake

Today a friend of Liam's had her 4th birthday party. As her present, Luke did her GFCF cake. We had a lot of fun designing and creating it. We're really getting into this cake decorating thing, in the dreamworld that we're some "GFCF Ace of Cakes" - I WISH!! LOL

Anyway, the cake began as a square and a round which we stacked. We originally planned to do a princess theme, but when it was stacked together, I thought it would be cute as a nice Sunday hat. So Luke died the white fondant to pink and we but a big gold ribbon as a bow with a "4" on top. I think Luke did a fantastic job...but you know, I'm partial! LOL






After that, on a whim, did sugar cookies that spelled "Happy Birthday Samantha". I told him it didn't say anything on the cake and it needed that somewhere. We didn't get the camera fast enough to take a picture of it in its entirety. But that's a total complement if you ask me!! I think the cookies were a bigger hit than the cake! (LOL) Too funny.





Samantha's party was a pool party. So we had fun swimming together as a family....something we haven't done in far too long. It was lots of fun. :)









Luke took over the grill and cooked the corn and hot dogs.
