Huntington Beach's MDA 5k

Today was Luke and my 5k for Muscular Dystrophy. As you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis over 2 years ago which falls under that umbrella of neuromuscular diseases. Anyway, the MDA had their own 5k, and I couldn't say no to that! :)

Well, with my knees still healing I agreed to still be in the "race" but not run. I was planning to push Liam (and walk) it while Luke sprinted ahead. Master plan anyway....

God had other ideas. We got there and it was miserable!! The weather just stunk!! It was drizzly rain which we thought might get better so we went and registered, got our sign in stuff done, and waited under somewhere where we wouldn't get wet. We were soaked to the bone within 5 minutes. Then it started raining harder.

Okay, I am happy to support my local MDA and all, but it's a BAD time to be sick right now!! LOL. So we waved the runners goodbye and headed home 45 minutes before the race began.

The morning started out so innocent. A crisp, cool bite in the air but no rain yet...

Then the weather started to turn...

Signing up....getting worse...

Then the rain began to pour....

On our way home and running to church instead!! LOL

Conveniently we had enough time to run home, change out of our clothes, grab some breakfast, and "race" our car to church. God thought we needed to be in church today apparantly!! :) No complaints here!! It was a great Sunday to go!! Our Pastor celebrated his 60th birthday, his 25th year in the ministry, and his 10th anniversary at our church in Irvine. What a great day and accomplishement God bestowed on the shephard of our little flock at Faith. :)

Unfortunately my camera got wet this morning and the little piece of it still working...went to camera heaven. LOL. Oh well, new camera should be arriving in the mail tomorrow!! Woo hoo!! :)
