I just wanted to send you a quick update. I saw an doctor in Plano, Texas for a continual headache I've had for over 2 weeks now. He prescribed Fiorecet for tension headaches due to stress. I thought it was odd, since I haven't really felt THAT stressed. I mean, who's not ever stressed? But I don't feel that stressed...believe me, I know what real stress is!! LOL! So the doctor in Plano mentioned if they haven't gone away in a week to call back. It has been a week now and the headaches have not gone away. The Fiorecet has helped some, but not much. I tried calling my Plano doctor's office to speak with him, but his nurse would not put him on. I am now in Wisconsin visiting my family for Christmas and the headaches are getting worse, especially in the morning. The Fiorecet (as fun as it is...it makes me SO loopy, like I am so very drunk) I think is either triggering my MG or interacting with the Prednisone. My MG is coming back with a vengeance (I'm having issues talking, smiling, and swallowing again). I got very frustrated since my doctor in Plano wouldn't do a consult over the phone, and was told to just go to an urgent care facility to get the Friorecet refilled. (sigh)
I went in today and the doctor here doesn't think I have a tension headache, since the pain is so localized (the back right part of my head). She is upping my Prednisone temporarily to 7 mg (I am SO not happy about that since my ND and I worked so hard to get down to 5 mg!!!), having me ween off the Fiorecet (it is some powerful stuff!!), having me take 4 - 200mg tabs of Ibuprofen every 8 hours, having me rest of course, and has scheduled an MRI of my brain for December 30th. She also wants me to see my Neurologist which I will schedule tomorrow. With the extensive history of cancer in my family, of course I'm nervous that it could be something more serious. But hopefully the scans will be clear and we'll have some answers soon.
I will keep you all updated as to how things progress, and hopefully I'll soon have some relief from this constant drone of pain in my head.
